Portugasmic!

by Sanjay on Aug.16, 2009, under Food, TV shows

This week we got back into a decent exercise routine, and have tried to work on getting some marketing going for Synergy Promo Products.

On Wednesday we went for a 2 and a half hour walk, as Brisbane had a public holiday for the Exhibition, or ‘Ekka‘ as they call it. (Australians have an annoying habit of shortening as many words as they can)

On Saturday Rheanna went for a 10km run with our housemate Mon. Rheanna took great delight in being fitter than someone else and seemed to revel in the pain Mon was experiencing the next day as she isn’t used to running! They are preparing for the Bridge to Brisbane, which is the largest running event in Queensland and bring out thousands of social runners, as well as more experienced runners. They have a 5km, and 10km event.

On the weekend we watched Bugsy Malone, an old favourite movie of mine we used to watch heaps as kids. It’s from 1976, and all the main actors are kids. It’s a musical movie, with plenty of songs, and “splurge guns” which spit out some sort of cream pie type splurge! Gosh it brings back memories, and makes me feel very old! It features a young Scott Baio and Jodie Foster!

Sunday we went for lunch to Nandos. Whilst Rheanna had the chicken pita, I tried the new Paella. It’s Portugasmic! It’s the first time I’ve ever had Paella, the only other time I’ve heard it mentioned was in a Seinfeld episode where the Costanza’s cook a whole lot of Paella! I’d definitely recommend it, but make sure the chicken is spicy, otherwise you are just being a wimp!

CHiPs

by Sanjay on Aug.10, 2009, under TV shows

The last couple of weeks has seen us concentrate on getting our business up and running. Consequently there hasn’t been a lot else going on, although Rheanna did go to a Woman Conference run by the Indooroopilly Christian City church.

Lately we’ve been watching some of old favourite TV shows. Top of the list was Streethawk which was a personal favourite of mine during the 80′s! I even got to see the bike live too, although interestingly there were multiple versions of the bike for different scenes, terrain etc.

Another series we’ve started recently is CHiPs. An old classic, and boy is it old! The filming is very good, but one can tell it is old! Last week we saw an episode with the “bomb squad” called in, and these guys were wearing asbestos suits in which they could barely move. They looked like hockey goalies. We’ve never seen anything quite like it! I remember watching CHiPs on our old TV in black and white! Doesn’t seem that long ago…
